If you are new to Wordpress but interested in creating a blog which runs on Wordpress, I would suggest you to go through this excellent tutorial on the same by Rachel Cunliffe. At around 70 Megs, it is a bit larger than normal tutorials but this is one heck of a tutorial which helps you install, configure and post right away. It also helps you set up permalinks, a contact form and an about page.
