Alive and kicking

I’ve just recovered from a severe bout of ‘blogger’s block’. Its been around 3 months since i posted and i am terribly sorry to have kept you waiting for such a long time (if you bothered to check this site at some point in time, that is )

The good news is that i’ve managed to upgrade this blog to the latest version of Wordpress - 2.04. The upgrade was pretty much routine once i backed-up my database tables prior to upgrading.

The only problem i faced was when i had to enable permalinks again. I got a ‘Page not found’ error whenever i tried to add comments or access the archives. I was at my wits’ end trying to figure out what went wrong. The wordpress support forum had some posts on this error though none of the answers given solved this issue. However, it helped me in narrowing down the search to ‘permalinks’.

Finally after almost one sleepless night, i discovered that there was this plugin named ‘Spam Karma 2 - Reloaded’ which also uses a .htaccess file (which has to be edited if one has to enable permalinks). After i deactivated it, the ‘page not found’ error disappeared. Phew !

If you haven’t noticed already, this blog has undergone a visual makeover. I still have to customize it a bit more to suit my needs but i guess that can wait coz i have loads to blog about after this long hiatus…
