I didn’t know Cellular was a 2004 movie until i got back home after watching the movie. It really beats me as to why they’d release the movie in India after 2 years of its worldwide release. Nevertheless it is one slick suspense thriller which should provide wholesome entertainment to even a non movie buff.

The movie is about a teacher (played by Kim Basinger) who gets kidnapped by a bunch of people and is locked in a attic. She dials a random number from a broken phone and the action starts from there. Chris Evans plays Ryan, the guy who picks up the call and he’s her only link to the outside world. The rest of the movie deals with how Ryan races against time to save her.

Interestingly, the story is by the same guy who wrote ‘Phone Booth’ and probably thats why both the stories tend to have a similar storyline. If you liked ‘Phone Booth’, you would like this film too and its even better than that. The best part of the movie is that its only 90 mins long adding to the taut screenplay.
