Importing blogger posts to wordpress

Importing my blogger posts from blogger turned out to be even more cumbersome than I ever thought it would be. The good news is that there are a few good resources on the net which tell you how to go about doing it. I’ll just mention the ones that I found useful so that anyone interested in doing the same can benefit from it.

To start with, there’s this tutorial on how to import posts from blogger available at http://www.skeltoac.com/2005/03/12/from-blogger-to-wordpress-2/
If things don’t seem to make much sense even after going through this link, I would suggest this excellent illustrated tutorial available at http://catsutorials.catsudon.org/?p=15 which might be the only one required if everything goes as per plan.

After having gone through the above links, I decided to give it a shot coz I had nothing to lose anyway. Things went fine till ‘Step 3′ where I had to click ‘Ok’ after having ftped my blogger posts to my WP directory in the format ‘200x_x_x_wordpress.php’. All I got was the same page being loaded again on clicking ‘Ok’. I had to spend around 2 days trying to figure out what went wrong. I finally found some comments in the same post (http://catsutorials.catsudon.org/?p=15#comment-249) which acknowledged the fact that even some other people had faced the same problem.

I then used the modified import blogger script that was given by mistical which eventually began importing my posts to WP !
